Storage & Research 

The Storage and Research (S&R) Division functioning under the direct control of Department of Food & Public Distribution is engaged in the field of Post Harvest Management of food grains.

The S&R Division of the Department has the following components:

  • Indian Grain Storage Management and Research Institute (IGMRI), Hapur and its two field stations located at Hyderabad and Ludhiana.
  • Eleven Quality Control Cells (QCCs) located at New Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Banglore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Pune, Patna, Chennai and Guwahati. Quality Control Cells (QCCs) located at Patna, Chennai and Guwahati are functioning since 01.4.2015 under Plan Scheme.
  • Central Grain Analysis Laboratory (CGAL) at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.
